As connected devices continue to expand across industrial and commercial applications, long-term security, firmware management, and regulatory compliance are becoming increasingly important for IoT manufacturers.

Nordic Semiconductor has announced a new lifetime Firmware Over-the-Air (FOTA) and device management solution through nRF Cloud, helping manufacturers prepare for upcoming EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) requirements.

Available across Nordic’s low-power wireless portfolio, the solution provides secure firmware updates, fleet management, audit logging, staged rollouts, and long-term device support through a single upfront licensing model. By integrating these capabilities directly into the platform, manufacturers can reduce the complexity and cost associated with building and maintaining custom update infrastructure.

Built on technology from Memfault, Nordic’s unified chip-to-cloud platform is designed to simplify device lifecycle management while supporting long-term security and compliance requirements.

Key features include:
• Secure FOTA infrastructure integrated with nRF Connect SDK
• Global low-power optimised update delivery network
• Fleet management and health monitoring tools
• Automated rollouts with rollback support
• Auditability and approval workflows
• Predictable lifetime pricing model for long-term support

The solution is available across Nordic’s nRF54, nRF53, nRF52, and nRF91 Series devices.

Nordic Semiconductor will also be showcasing the platform and its latest developments at Embedded World 2026.
